A wonderful Sunday!

Well, yesterday was Superbowl Sunday. It was the Giants vs. the Patriots. We weren't really excited about the Superbowl this year. The teams weren't that great, but I was going for the Patriots just because I don't like the Giant's coach. Well, in the end, the Giants won. Oh well. Who cares? :D

Saturday night, I found a recipe for Buffalo Chicken on pinterest. Go here for the recipe and directions: (you won't be sorry!)

http://mykitchenapron.blogspot.com/2011/07/crock-pot-buffalo-chicken.html?showComment=1328550692701#c3291106173855330935

I had already defrosted some chicken, but I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with it. Well, after I found this recipe, it looked soooo good, so I decided that I was going to make it. What made it even better was that it was a crock-pot meal! So, since it takes 6-7 hours to cook on low, I decided I would start it then and it would be ready in the morning. I had to let it cook about an hour longer after the initial 6-7 hours. So, I shredded the chicken so it could soak up the chili sauce and ranch dip dry packet. I left it on warm while we were in church. I also started some bread in the bread maker. We were welcomed with the yummy smells of homemade bread and yummy buffalo chicken when we came home. I loved it! And since it was fast Sunday, that made it even better! We closed our fast in prayer and then it was dig in time! :D We put it on the fresh, warm bread I had made and I put ranch and cheese on top. Oh man! It was soooo good! David really liked it and so did I. It's definitely a recipe I'll make again.

Poor little David fell asleep in his high chair again. So, after I finished, I went to clean him up and then I took a nap with him. I was super tired. I had gone to bed around 2am. We slept for about 2 hours before we both heard David on the phone. Of course little David was very curious as to what his dad was doing, so he got down off the bed and went to investigate. I came out shortly after him.

Then, I was actually very productive! I washed all the dishes-which had piled up again-UGH! I made granola for David. He LOVES his family recipe for granola cereal and I hadn't made it in forever, so I finally did. I made about 4 batches so he'll have plenty for awhile! :D Then I made some more bread because we ate about half the loaf earlier. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it really was! We went to bed early (about 10sih) because David was really tired and so was everyone else. I couldn't really sleep though. I don't know what's going on with me. I haven't been able to sleep very well recently. But, oh well. I got up to turn the bread machine off at about 2:15am since it doesn't turn off by itself. The bread wasn't done until 12:20am, but I was sleeping then. So I took the bread out and then went back to sleep. I slept for the rest of the night.

Today I'm going to the post office to FINALLY mail off a letter to my brother and to my nephew Luke for his school project. David had taken the car on Saturday and had it all day for work. I wasn't done with Luke's letter by the time he left so I said that's fine. I was planning on walking to the post office with baby-which is about a 18-20 minute walk one way. But I checked the office hours and I realized I wasn't going to get there before the office closed. I was super bummed. But I have the car today, so I get to go there and to get some groceries. Our poor fridge is almost empty!

Anyway. I think David woke up either too early or is just being crabby so I can get off the computer. It's probably because I'm not playing his Mozart music right now. That's what he's into right now. He'll start dancing once it comes on. He'll even move his arm like he's conducting. Actually, he only moves his arm up and down, but it's like he's conducting.

Yesterday in Relief Society he wouldn't stay by me, so I just let him walk around and only went to get him when he went up front. When we were singing, he would walk up to the piano and the conductor and start waving his arm. It was too funny.

Alright...well..little David has now brought me 3 books to read to him. (The other thing he's into) so I better get going and entertain my little guy!

I'm back! (Finally)

Well..gee...it didn't take me long to fall behind did it? Where did the enthusiam go? I must admit, I was thinking about blogging for the past couple of days, but I just haven't done it. It's sometimes hard for me to get computer time alone.

Little David is always wanting to be by my side watching what goes on the computer screen. He then thinks he's smart enough to do whatever I'm doing and will continue to touch whatever buttons his little fingers can get ahold of. Needless to say, that's when I say my computer time is up.

So, I've had a few cool things happen to me this week.

David called me from school on Thursday and said, I'm coming home early so you need to get ready because we're going out. It was totally out of the blue! I was excited, but kinda hesitant. By the time we left it was a little after 6pm and was dark outside. He drove us to the Provo Temple and said that we were going to walk around. Poor little David was so tired he had fallen asleep on the short ride over. (It takes us about 5 minutes to get there) We put him in the stroller and walked around. We spent a lot of time by the water as little David loved that area. We even had him touch the Temple. It was a great feeling to be on the Temple grounds. I loved taking our son there. I look forward to going there more often so he will come to love the Temple and it's meaning.

Afterward, David took us to Applebee's. YUM! We hadn't been there in FOREVER! We decided to splurge a little and even got little David something from the kids menu. Too bad he wasn't hungry! We brought his hamburger and fries home so he could have them for lunch the next day. It was an amazing night.

I love my husband and all that he does to make me feel special. I really lucked out in marrying him.

On Friday, I had to deal with a crazy itch rash type thing that was all over my body. It was soo annoying and I felt like scratching my skin off. I finally listened to David and went to go see the Doctor at the BYU Student Health Center. Well, it turns out that it was hives.

I have no idea where it came from because I haven't changed anything in my diet, soap, lotion, perfume, anything! The doctor was quizzing me about all this stuff and I kept saying, no, no, no, no! I guess he didn't believe me because it took looking at my back for him to say, yeah, you have hives and are allergic to something. Uh...gee thanks!?

He gave me the name of some allergy medicine to get at the pharmacy and told me to soak in the bathtub with some Aveeno stuff. If it didn't go away, I'm to come back next week and he's going to give me something else for it.

So, I'm heading to the Pharmacy and I can kinda see that the room is a little full. I see missionaries waiting in line and some sitting down. I'm thinking, oh great. This will take awhile.

Then another awesome thing happened! I saw my brother! Elder Larson! I couldn't believe it! It was AMAZING! I looked at him with a confused face and said: What the heck are you doing here? He looked at me with a smile and pointed to his companion while saying: Kasama. Which means "companion" in Tagalog. He was getting a refill. We ended up talking for at least 10 minutes. I got to meet both of his companions. They were....decent enough.

Little David kept looking at (Alex) like he knew him, but started acting shy. I went over and said, it's Uncle Alex! You remember him don't you? And he did after awhile. Alex reached for him and he went with no fuss at all! We took a few pictures together-which I'm grateful Alex had his camera on him. It was great!

My brother looks amazing! I always knew he would, but finally seeing him with his tag on, it almost made me want to tear up. I didn't of course. I thought it would be hard to say goodbye to him again, but it really wasn't.

The Lord knew that I really needed that time with him. The last two months have been super hard, but when I saw my brother, I knew that it was a tender mercy from my Heavenly Father.

It reminded me of why we have the Temples: To bind our families together forever. I'm so very lucky to be sealed to my mother-who is an amazing person, to my sister-who I love dearly, to my brother-who is truly one of my bestest friends, and to my step-father-who even though, is now divorced to my mom, made it possible for me to be sealed with them.

I am also so very lucky to be sealed to my husband-who is the love of my life, and to our sweet, handsome son, David.

How lucky I have been to be raised in the gospel of Jesus Christ. How lucky I am to be a member of his church. How lucky I am to be called His daughter.

I love my Heavenly Father and know that he always knows what's best for me. I need to be better at trusting him with my whole heart. Even so, I know that He is always there for me when I feel like I'm alone and when I need him the most.

I promise that He is also there for you...if you're willing to turn to Him for help and guidance, He will always be there for you.
